In addition, we are always looking for part-time help with recreation programs throughout the year. Summer employment applications are accepted starting at the beginning of every new year. Summer Job Opportunities
Pool Directors - 22 +
Pool Directors are responsible for the day to day operations and all phases of operation of the pool facility within the framework set up by the Recreation & Parks Department. Pool Director's responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Ensure the pool is adequately staffed each day and guards/gate attendants are aware of their responsibilities and their work schedules.
- Hourly testing of pool chemistry and accurate recordings, keep clear records of accidents/incidents.
- Follow proper opening and closing procedures. Direct evening clean-up and follow all protocols for emergency situations (accidents, lightning, etc.)
- Provide a safe and clean facility for patrons to enjoy.
- Enforce all rules, regulations and TOB policies and procedures
Lifeguards - Age 15+
Lifeguard's primary responsibility is to ensure the safety and health of pool patrons. All lifeguards must possess current Lifeguard Training, CPR for the Professional Rescuer/AED and First Aid certifications.
Desk/Gate Attendant - Age 16+
The Gate Attendant is responsible for ensuring each pool patron scans in with a pool pass or pays the entry fee at the gate. The Gate attendant is the first point of contact for all pool patrons.
Swim Team Coach/Dive Team Coach - Age 17+
Each hamlet pool has its own competitive swim and dive team which participates in the Northern Westchester Swim Conference. Coaches are responsible for overseeing the swimming and diving team program which includes planning and organizing all practices, working on stroke techniques and speedwork, maintains a fun, nurturing and competitive culture, create the line ups in accordance with the NWSC rules and regulations, and attend all meets.
Camp Directors - Ages 20 +
Camp directors supervise and manage the camp program. They are responsible for the day-to-day programming and activities at the camp. Directors ensure the implementation of rules, policies, safety guidelines, and programs. They are in charge of the camp staff and campers in their care and maintain all Department of Health requirements while on duty.
Camp Specialist - Age 19 +
Camp Specialists work with the camp to enrich the experience of the campers. The individual should be energetic and knowledgeable about a specialized area. Some specialized areas could include the following: arts & crafts, general athletics (gameplay), science, sports specific (tennis, soccer, basketball, volleyball), and dance.
Camp Counselors - Ages 16 +
Counselors will be responsible for caring for and mentoring children aged 3 -14. Participating with them in daily camp activities including swimming, art, sports, and other outdoor activities.
CITS - Age 15 or finished 9th grade
The CIT is a volunteer position. They are training and learning what the job of a counselor is. A CIT works alongside more seasoned employees to learn the program and culture of the camp.
