Revised: Closure Canine Commons – Large Dog Area

REVISED 9/5/14
Previous plans to close the Large Dog area at the Canine Commons Dog Park for turf rehabilitation, topdressing, seeding and other facility maintenance starting September 3rd with the enclosure not being re-opened until the spring of 2015 and the Agility Area scheduled to be opened with a reconfiguration to host the large dog enclosure for this fall and early next spring has been revised.

REVISION: Due to the start of a NYSOGS project involving the demolition and removal of an old water storage tank and site restoration located at the top of the hill behind the Agility Area and Large Dog Enclosure, the roadway between the two areas will be very active with construction. The project will run from September 8th through the end of 2014. For the safety of dogs and dog owners who utilize the Canine Commons Dog Park, Recreation and Parks Department has decided to modify the maintenance plan and the Large Dog Enclosure will now remain open this fall with the Agility Area closed and Fall Agility Classes are cancelled.

In addition, on Tuesday September 9th and Wednesday September 10th the Large Dog Enclosure will be CLOSED between 7:00am and 3:00pm for limited maintenance work within the enclosure that will be performed by the Parks staff.

We apologize for any confusion related to the closing of the Large Dog Enclosure. Hopefully, the closing of the Large Dog area for 2 days next week will be a minimal disruption to those who use the facility. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
