2:00pm-3:00pm | Happy birthday America! Although John Jay did not sign the Declaration of Independence, he was a passionate supporter of our fight for freedom. Jay served on a committee exposing and prosecuting Loyalists, led a ring of spies, and eventually gained favorable terms in our peace agreement to end the war. Thematic Tour– The War of 1812

2:00pm-3:00pm | On June 18, 1812, President James Madison declared war with England, the first time the United States had ever declared war on another country. Take a docent-led tour of John Jay’s Bedford House that highlights the causes of war and the impact that it had on America.

1:30pm, Rosen House | Enjoy delightful tea sandwiches, delicious desserts and a variety of fragrant teas. The Tea service is preceded by a tour of the Rosen House.

4th of July 2019 fireworks in Westchester County | caramoor 4th of July concert and fireworks

8pm | Caramoor has their annual big event where you can enjoy Pops, Patriots and Fireworks.  They will feature songs from the Rodgers & Hammerstein. Enjoy songs performed by Caramoor Schwab Vocal Rising Star alums Madison Leonard and Shea Owens, and the Westchester Symphonic Winds.  The evening will be topped off with a spectacular fireworks show set to Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture.

Thematic Tours

This tour is offered at 2pm, Wednesday – Saturday (Thursday – Saturday beginning October 15th)

We are excited to announce that beginning August 1st our 2pm tour will always be a thematic tour. On Wednesday through Saturday (Thursday through Saturday beginning October 15th) we will be exploring historical topics relevant to John Jay, his family, and Jay’s relationships with other Founders. On Sundays through October 15th the thematic tour will be an in-depth look at objects from our collections. Standard house tours will be available at 1pm, 3pm, and 4pm (through October 15th). KBHVAC regularly hosts continuing medical education classes for EMS providers. We offer public First Aid and CPR classes by request, and we are often available to provide stand-by services at community sporting events and gatherings. Please contact us to learn more
