1:00 pm – 3:00 pm | Adult | The library does not have a set of tiles, so if you have a set, please bring it. For those who would like to have a review and instruction: we will be offering three sessions with an instructor starting at 1pm on July 26, August 2, and August 9. This will take place in the Garden Room with easy access through the Children’s Room entrance. The instructor has enough sets, so the only thing that you have to bring is your 2019 Mahjong Card. 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm | Happy birthday America! Although John Jay did not sign the Declaration of Independence, he was a passionate supporter of our fight for freedom. Jay served on a committee exposing and prosecuting Loyalists, led a ring of spies, and eventually gained favorable terms in our peace agreement to end the war. Take a docent-led tour of John Jay’s home to explore these and other contributions John Jay made toward our nation’s birth.

Tech Track
4:00 pm – 5:30 pm | Grades 3-5 | Registration required | Lego Animation – Stop motion animations are created by taking lots of individual pictures and playing them back at a certain speed to create movement. Bring along your imagination and learn how movies like the recently released Missing Link were made. Explore stop motion animation by creating stories with Legos. Each child can expect to finish a stop motion animation short to share with their family.

Thematic Tours

This tour is offered at 2pm, Wednesday – Saturday (Thursday – Saturday beginning October 15th)

We are excited to announce that beginning August 1st our 2pm tour will always be a thematic tour. On Wednesday through Saturday (Thursday through Saturday beginning October 15th) we will be exploring historical topics relevant to John Jay, his family, and Jay’s relationships with other Founders. On Sundays through October 15th the thematic tour will be an in-depth look at objects from our collections. Standard house tours will be available at 1pm, 3pm, and 4pm (through October 15th). KBHVAC regularly hosts continuing medical education classes for EMS providers. We offer public First Aid and CPR classes by request, and we are often available to provide stand-by services at community sporting events and gatherings. Please contact us to learn more
