Senior Citizens

Senior Citizens participate in regularly scheduled meetings and programs. A variety of activities such as informational presentations, crafts, exercise, movies, social functions, special programs and parties are offered. Free transportation is offered by the department for local shopping and meetings. Get your name on the senior mailing list to find out about all on going events. (Bus trips, weekly meeting topics, special events and more. A bi-monthly calendar will be mailed to your home address. A Senior Citizen Nutrition Program and a home delivered Meals on Wheels Program are offered through an agreement with the Village of Mt. Kisco. The Department is always on the lookout for volunteers to deliver Meals on Wheels.

Come and join us! Weekly meetings are offered to all Residents ages 60+. Meetings include a variety of activities, informational presentations, crafts, games, exercise, special events and more. Coffee, tea and light refreshments will be available at all meetings. We meet every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm at the Bedford Hills Community House at 74 Main Street, Bedford Hills. Transportation to the meetings is available, call the Senior Hotline one day in advance and ask to be added to the pickup list.

Chair Yoga for Seniors is an easy, low-risk activity designed to give you energy, flexibility and balance. It can help alleviate back pain, arthritic stiffness and improve heart functioning. An instructor from Northern Westchester Hospital provides this popular and effective activity on a weekly basis to Bedford’s senior adults “free of charge”.
